IT Service Manager

 

Salary: £44,131 to £65,377 + £2,520 Car Allowance + pension + 25 days holiday
 
Location: Working from home during Covid & thereafter flexible/hybrid working arrangements including our Bradford/Leeds offices

 

Purpose of the role:

 

The IT Service Manager is responsible for ensuring that within their area the IT service strategy, tools and processes are designed, delivered, and continuously improved to meet the current and future requirements of the business.  The role involves assurance activities in Service Transition and Operations, with key areas of responsibility for the; IT Service Management strategy, IT Services stakeholder relationship management and IT Service Risk Management (Operational, Continuity, Security).

 

What will the role involve:

 

  • Support and drive the Service Management strategy development, team learning and development, and operational effectiveness for the business areas in scope of the role.

 

  • Driving the Service first culture across the internal teams, partners, and suppliers.  Enhancing service excellence in everything that is delivered.

  • Agree and continually review key levels of service with business functions and areas.

  • Ensure that the voice of the business customer is heard within the IT department, and that the customer understands the services, standards, KPI's and SLA’s provided by the department.

  • Establish and drive partner, supplier, and internal team performance to meet end-to-end KPI's and SLAs, building a belief in service management excellence.

  • Be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of IT Services through monitoring and management of partners, suppliers, and internal teams.

​​​​​​​

  • Ensure that service delivery, its issues, impacts, and improvement plans are clearly understood, documented, and communicated appropriately business wide.

  • Coordinate the enablement of change via Service Transition and through change enablement into the live service.

​​​​​​​

  • This is a small team, with people management accountabilities.  Though a crucial element of this role will be managing people across the Yorkshire Water estate as part of supporting change and resolving and managing significant major incidents.

 

What skills are we looking for:

 

  • Experienced in a similar IT Service Management role within a complex environment

​​​​​​​

  • Experience of the ITIL principles (Including Incident, problem change management processes, service transition, service operations, service level management, service asset and configuration management and knowledge management).

​​​​​​​

  • Experience of driving problem management processes and items through to successful resolution.

​​​​​​​

  • Good understanding of applications and data security

​​​​​​​

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and qualified to a minimum of ITIL Foundation.

​​​​​​​

  • You will have strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict management skills

 

Desirable:

 

  • Previous experience supporting transformational change in large organisations.

​​​​​​​

  • Experience working within a DevOps, Waterfall and Agile methodologies,  and knowledge of the application development lifecycle.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

  • ISO 20000 Service Management Standard or similar professional qualification is desirable.
