IT Security Operations Centre Manager


Salary:  £44,131 to £65,377 + £2,520 Car Allowance + Attractive Pension + Bonus + 25 Day’s Holiday


Location: Working from home during Covid & thereafter flexible/hybrid working arrangements including our Bradford offices

 

Purpose of the role:


Security Operations Centre Manager (SOC Manager) is responsible for:


•    The overall responsibility for the 24x7 Security Operation Centre, managing the 3rd party provider who provides this service and matrix managing YW resources to investigate and action potential and actual security incidents.  The SOC is the first line of response to cyber incidents.


•    To develop the SOC strategy and vision and plan, direct and control the day to day operation of the SOC, as well as being Incident Lead for Cyber Security incidents.


•    Work closely with the Information Security Manger and Cyber-Physical Security Manager within the Tec function and the Physical and Personnel Security Manager in the wider organisation to promote an holistic approach to security and ensure compliance with the Protective Security Guidance (PSG).


What will the role involve:


•    SOC strategy / future vision


•    Plan, direct and control the SOC functions and operation


•    Direct the Cyber Intelligence capability to identify potential threats delivering strategic reports and strategies to minimise the impact of the threat.


•    Leading and managing the Security Operations partner and matrix managing colleagues to investigate and remediate incidents; security event monitoring; management and response; cyber intelligence


•    Develop and mature YW’s security posture in relation to the identification, protection, detection, response and recovery to cyber security incidents

 

What skills are we looking for:


•    Relevant experience in Cyber Security, Security Operations, IT Operations, Incident Management, Crisis Management


•    Understanding of information security defence and intelligence frameworks


•    Proven experience and ability to manage people, processes, and technology. 


•    Negotiating and third-party management experience 


•    Experience of utilising cyber security tooling


•    Proven track record of delivering Cyber Security initiatives.


•    A significant knowledge and experience of IT that demonstrates core competencies in an information security role and experience of cyber security, cyber essentials and social engineering.


•    Broad understanding of current Cyber Security technologies, vulnerabilities, exploits, exposures and malicious behaviours.


•    The ability to complete SC security clearance or have it currently.

 

Desirable:


•    Relevant IS industry recognised qualification such as (ISC)² CISSP/CISM and / or a degree in Information Security or relevant experience in the IS field.


•    Previous experience in an operational and / or strategic leadership role in a commercially orientated and / or regulated environment.


•    Experience in security incident management investigations


•    A good working knowledge of General Data Protection regulations (GDPR)


•    Practical experience of carrying out information security compliance reviews/ audits
