Developer Services Inspector (Waste)

 

Salary: £21,919 to £27,398 + Company Van + Pension + 25 days holiday

 

Location: Leeds, Bradford or other YW location (dependant on home location), you will cover a wide geographical area.

 

 

Purpose of the role:

 

The Developer Services team provide a reliable and helpful service to property developers and the domestic and commercial customers that we service.

 

The purpose of the role is to be the key point of contact for the customer and ensure that construction work necessary for the provision of waste water assets is delivered to specification, within timescales and accurate information is provided to enable applications to be progressed in a timely manner.

 

The role may be based in either Bradford, Leeds or other YW location (dependant on home location), however, you will be expected to travel across the region as business needs require. You therefore need a full valid EU driving licence. A YW van will be provided for you to fulfil this role.

 

Hours of work will be 37 hours per week within a window of 08:00 and 18:00. We will require a degree of flexibility in the role for customers wanting later appointments.


 

What does the role involve?

 

•            You will gather data as requested by the Developer Services Sewerage Technical Team within priorities, to enable the timely progression of all applications within SLAs

 

•            You will act as the company representative for all waste water related site inspections ensuring that customers receive an efficient and technical service

 

•            You will undertake proactive site visits to ensure the quality of workmanship on all sites and assets are installed right first time

 

•            You will effectively manage site inspection work for build over consultations, ensuring that work is completed to standard as per the signed legal agreement, within SLAs

 

•            You will effectively manage site inspection work for sewer connections ensuring that work is completed to standard as per the agreement, within SLAs

 

•            You will effectively manage site inspection work for minor alterations to the public sewer,  ensuring that work is completed to standard as per the signed legal agreement, within SLAs

 

•            You will be responsible for the management of all inspections required on a developer site with sewers and associated assets put forward for adoption

 

•            You will be responsible for working closely with the Developer Services Agents in relation to the adoption of assets and the vesting of development sites and the completion of all relevant paperwork

 

             

What skills are we looking for?

 

•            A detailed understanding of the principles of connecting to the public sewer, alterations proposed to a public sewer, building over a public sewer and diverting a public sewer or a technical engineering/construction background.

 

•            A detailed understanding of technical knowledge required in relation to the design and operation of sewerage networks and pump stations or a technical engineering/construction background.

 

•            Technical knowledge and previous experience of managing the construction of waste water assets on new development sites

 

•            Excellent interpersonal skills & ability to provide excellent customer service.
