Networks Team Leader

 

Salary £43,721 to £54,651 + 25 days annual leave + pension

 

Location: Bradford, with home working until April 2021 due to Covid-19 & flexible working

 

Purpose of the role:

 

This is a demanding Network Technical Team Leader role which requires excellent leadership and communication skills. You need to have solid Cisco Networking technical knowledge, and have ability to learn new technologies, document and knowledge transfer to team members.

You will be a key contributor to the management team for planning, budgeting, resourcing and other general management issues. You will align resources to help support the delivery of the IT programme of work and maintain the Yorkshire Water portfolio of IT services

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

•            Manage, motivate and lead a team of nine Network Engineers planning out and allocation of tasks. Create and maintain procedures and documentation for network support. Makes a significant contribution to the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of network problems.

•            Aid and support to the senior networking operations and engineering teams including training, systems automation, process improvement and reporting.

•            Identifies and manages resources needed for the planning, development and delivery of specified information and communications systems services. Influences senior level customers and project teams through change initiatives, ensuring that the infrastructure is managed to provide agreed levels of service and data integrity

•            To keep management updated on overall team performance through development and monitoring of key KPI.

•            Ability to liaise at a technical level with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery and customer excellence across all elements of the customer site implementations

•            Enhance the technical capabilities of a busy Network Team that look after design, install test and commission of IP networks including in life support.

•            Identify opportunities for innovation in the delivery of Network Support activities in the department.

•            Ensure the transition of solutions and services into the production environment is right first time and delivers an exceptional customer service.

•            Ensure that event monitoring is undertaken where necessary and the IT estate is proactively monitored and take corrective action/escalation should service availability become threatened. Uses network management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required:

 

•            Technical – Experience of Cisco Routing and Switching, WAN, LAN, IP, Telephony, Palo Alto, Cisco Nexus.

•            Experience of managing a 2nd/3rd line Network support teams

•            Experience of managing a team of networking experts who design and implement new networking solutions is essential for this role.

•            Strong communications skills, both oral & written

•            Cisco Certified to at least CCNA/CCNP level
