Salary & Benefits(4a): £43,891 - £54,845 + up to 10% pension + bonus + 25 days holiday and 1 wellness day per annum 

Location: Buttershaw, Bradford / Hybrid (1 office day per week) 

Work type: Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

As our Development and Application Support Team Leader you will lead a team responsible for the provision of Application Maintenance and Support Services, for a specific group or suite of applications, within the Technology function.  The role will ensure that Yorkshire Waters business application systems, are developed, maintained, and supported to achieve efficient and effective delivery of services and information. 

 

This will be provided through the development and management of internal resources, and utilisation of external partner capabilities.  You will be a key contributor to the Application Management team for planning, budgeting, resourcing, and continuous improvement initiatives, with the aim of providing reliable and performant group of applications.

Where you fit in: 

 

As our Development and Application Support Team Leader you will: 

  • Ensure business applications are managed and maintained to the highest possible standard and in alignment with service level agreements. 
  • Work with Service Management to expedite fixes in relation to service incidents. 
  • Define, develop, and provide an application problem analysis and resolution service for complex application problems in conjunction with internal technology teams and application suppliers. 
  • Collaborate with and to contribute to the design, transition, and implementation of new technology application services into production by providing support lead expertise throughout the delivery lifecycle. 
  • Work with support partners, as your extended team, and 3rd party software providers in ensuring operational and contractual obligations are fulfilled and efficient. 
  • Triage of priority defect demand and support coming into the Development stack, ensuring appropriate alignment of technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) resource. 
  • Measure and report application management and support effectiveness, efficiency, and product quality through metrics and KPIs. 

 

What skills & qualifications you will need: 

 

  • Experience in a Team Leader role within a professional IT environment planning, installing, maintaining, and supporting business applications. 
  • Knowledge of the application development lifecycle. 
  • Experience of the ITIL principles (including incident, problem change management processes, service transition, service operations, service level management, service asset and configuration management and knowledge management) 
  • Good understanding of technical IT issues to enable discussions with internal and external technical specialists. 
  • Experience of problem management capacity management and release management. 
  • Good understanding of applications and data security. 

 

You will also benefit from having: 

 

  • Experience of working in a Development Ops environment 
  • Knowledge of server administration and data querying 
  • Experience of working within a large organisation that provides Utility services. 
  • Experience of implementing methodologies and practices with agile, CI/CD, environment. 
  • Educated to degree level and or with appropriate professional qualification. 

  

We embrace a flexible working model, where our hybrid setup typically requires an average of 1 in the office per week. This could be slightly more when collaborative efforts, training or meeting deadlines demand it. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday during working hours.
